IMPRESSIONISTIC PAINTING
April 23-April 2410a-5pm
Paint the ephemeral nature of light! Learn to see light as color within the Impressionist doctrine through demonstrations and personal instruction.
This workshop will detail the differences between Tonalism and Impressionism as defined within 19th C doctrine. Its focus will be on color and its varying use as the method for portraying light in painting as well as its incorporation of Transcendental metaphysics in landscape painting. In addition, a short reference will be made on the current exhibit of Impressionist works and the history and significance of the movement both at its (19th C) inception and the influence on artists today. Both demonstrations and individual instruction will be offered to those participants.
At the ARTIST STUDIO AND ON LOCATION, 2425 Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI.
